Bachelor and Degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos, a Master's degree in Chemistry from the State University of Campinas and a PhD in Science from the State University of Campinas. She is currently a full professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho and works mainly on the topic of advanced oxidative processes for the treatment of effluents such as the photo-Fenton process in homogeneous and heterogeneous media under solar and artificial irradiation. She also works in the area of ​​atmospheric chemistry in the assessment of biogenic carbon emissions by determining organic species in rainwater.
