She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Fundação Universidade Regional de Blumenau (1998), a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (2000), and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (2005). She is an ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in the Department of Chemical and Food Engineering at UFSC and a PERMANENT FACULTY MEMBER of the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering at UFSC. She served as Vice-Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina from 2012 to 2015, and as Coordinator of the same program and a Member of the Graduate Committee from 2015 to 2020. She was also a Member of the Administrative Committee of the Technological Center. She is currently a Member of the Internal Committee for PIBIC Selection and Monitoring at the Technological Center of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering Science, Chemical Engineering Journal, and an Associate Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Chemical Engineering.

Her experience in Chemical Engineering primarily focuses on the following topics: computational fluid dynamics and numerical simulation of chemical and biotechnological processes, with an emphasis on multiphase flows and microfluidics. Ongoing research includes mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of chemical and biotechnological processes using computational fluid dynamics tools, the application of advanced oxidation processes in microreactors, and the use of microreactors in the synthesis of high-value-added compounds via chemical and enzymatic pathways.
